How thermal paper is made?

The process of making thermal paper involves several steps, including coating, curing, and cutting. Here is a general overview of the process of making thermal paper:

Coating: The base paper is coated with a layer of heat-sensitive material, usually made from a mixture of bisphenol A (BPA) and a developer.
Drying: The coated paper is dried using a series of rollers and ovens to remove any moisture and create a smooth, even surface.
Curing: The paper is then cured in a controlled environment to ensure that the coating adheres properly to the paper and is fully activated.
Cutting: The paper is cut into the desired size and shape using precision cutting machines.

It is important to note that the composition and formulation of the heat-sensitive material used to coat the paper can vary depending on the intended use and application of the thermal paper. For example, some thermal papers are made with a top-coating that enhances image quality and resistance to heat, light, and moisture, while others are made with a synthetic coating that is more durable and suitable for use in harsh environments.

In addition, some types of thermal paper, such as those used for medical records and prescriptions, may be made with a special coating that is free of BPA, as BPA has been linked to potential health concerns. Instead, these papers may use alternative coatings that are considered safer for use in sensitive applications. We also offer BPA free Thermal paper as per requirement of customers.
